The Pencil was founded in 2021 with the sole intention of becoming a beautiful space that connects people.
Our Club is home to business professionals, creatives, philanthropists, and socialites, all with one thing in common – infinite curiosity and seeking a space that serves as a conduit for their daily endeavours.
Situated at the highest point of eThekwini, and in the centre of the City’s engine room for commerce and culture, The Pencil is perfectly placed for both work and leisure.
The ethos of The Pencil is this: to create a space that connects the curious and inspires the connected, and we do this by understanding the needs of our Members in everything we do.

A Membership to The Pencil gives you exclusive access to dedicated spaces such as a Library, Cigar Lounge, beauty, and fitness areas, two restaurants, three unique bars, private dining areas, intimate meeting spaces, function venues and a glorious rooftop for outdoor functions or a dip in the pool. The Membership team also curates a program of monthly events, ranging from talks with thought leaders to seasonal parties and networking meetups.
